Red Banana Sevvaazhai Flour | Solar-Dried Baby Food Flour

From traditional Sevvaazhai bananas grown in Gobi to a simple, naturally processed flour for little ones

Some of the best baby foods don't need a long ingredient list.

They begin with a familiar fruit, carefully ripened, gently processed and turned into something that can be easily incorporated into a baby's complementary diet.

Our Red Banana Sevvaazhai Flour is made from Sevvaazhai (Red Banana) sourced from the Gobi region of Tamil Nadu. The bananas are carefully selected, processed, solar-dried and finely ground into a naturally sweet, smooth flour.

No complicated formulation. Just the goodness of a traditional banana variety, thoughtfully processed.

Why Red Banana?

Sevvaazhai, commonly known as Red Banana, is a traditional South Indian banana variety known for its distinctive reddish-purple peel and naturally sweet, aromatic flesh when ripe.

Like other bananas, it naturally provides carbohydrates,  making it a convenient source of energy. It also contains dietary fibre and naturally occurring minerals such as potassium, along with other plant compounds.

The nutritional composition varies with variety, ripeness and processing. Solar drying removes much of the water from the fruit, concentrating the remaining nutrients and naturally occurring sugars.

Why make it into flour?

Fresh banana is nutritious, but it is highly perishable.

Converting it into flour gives the fruit a longer-lasting and convenient form that can be easily incorporated into a baby's complementary foods.

The flour can be mixed with water and cooked into a simple porridge, or added in small quantities to other age-appropriate foods.

It is particularly useful for parents looking for **single-ingredient or minimally processed complementary foods.

Solar drying helps remove moisture without relying on artificial preservatives.

The dried banana is then ground into a fine flour suitable for easy preparation.

A simple baby food ingredient

When introducing complementary foods, simplicity can be valuable.

Our Red Banana Flour can be prepared as a basic porridge with water and then adjusted to an age-appropriate consistency.

You can also combine it with other foods that your baby has already been introduced to, such as:

* Rice

* Ragi

* Oats

* Millet

* Moong dal

* Homemade vegetable purées

Always introduce new foods one at a time when appropriate, so that you can observe how your baby responds.

How to prepare Red Banana Flour Porridge

Start with a small quantity of flour and mix it thoroughly with water to form a lump-free slurry.

Cook gently, stirring continuously, until the flour is completely cooked and reaches a smooth, age-appropriate consistency.

Allow it to cool before serving.

For older babies, the consistency can gradually be adjusted according to their developmental stage.

**Do not add salt, sugar or honey to infant food.**

Honey should not be given to babies under 12 months because of the risk of infant botulism.

Suitable for use as a complementary-food ingredient after complementary feeding has begun and according to your baby's developmental readiness.

For babies, always prepare the flour thoroughly and serve an appropriate texture.
